Joy of Dance Welcomes Savannah Hoag as the Next Guest Teacher for Contemporary Modern and Ballet
Joy of Dance is excited to welcome Savannah Hoag as the next guest teacher for the adult Contemporary Modern, Beginner and adult Ballet, Beginner classes. Savannah will be guest teaching on Monday, June 1 and Monday, June 8 for both classes. Please help us in welcoming her to Joy of Dance!
Mondays 6 – 7:30 p.m. Contemporary Modern – Beginner
Mondays 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. Ballet – Beginner
With the thrill of creating and inspiring, Savannah Hoag uses multiple teaching methods to engage her dance students. She aspires to create a nurturing, open environment within her classes so students can feel safe to learn and explore. Savannah often integrates anatomy and kinesiology knowledge into her teaching practice while at the same time adding elements of creativity and imagination. Her love of dance has led her to many streams of the industry including performance, choreography, stage management and teaching. As a graduate of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre’s professional training program, Savannah has had the opportunity to work with many renowned choreographers including Peggy Baker, Danny Grossman, Christopher House, Julia Sasso and Darryl Tracy. Upon graduation from The School of TDT in 2008, she became very involved in the Toronto dance scene. Savannah’s professional performance credits include works by Rebecca Carney, Diana Groenendijk, Karen Kaeja, Caroline Niklas- Gordon, and Meagan O’Shea. In addition to her certificate from The School of TDT, she holds an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from York University and a Bachelor of Education degree as an ‘artist in community education’ from Queen’s University. She is currently a school teacher and runs a small dance school in North Toronto.
