January Tip for Dancers
The philosophy of push through the pain is one we are all familiar with. The thing is that it can aggravate injury. Your body is your tool for dance and keeping it in good working order is an imperative. That means keeping it healthy and strong so you are able to use your body and push those limits for along time to come. Go beyond simply showing up for class and take the extra measures you need to keep the finely tuned body going. Get plenty of rest; maintain a healthy diet, do strengthening exercises (and don’t forget the feet) and stretch.
