Joy of Dance Holiday Food and Clothing Drive
Joy of Dance wants to make this Holiday Season a warm one for those adults and families who are cold and hungry. Beginning this December 5, Joy of Dance will be placing donation boxes and bins in our studios as well as at Ryerson Theatre on December 15th at the Joy of Dance Holiday Showcase.
“This is the time of year when those who go without is particularly noticeable.” says Jennifer Jones CEO of Joy of Dance Centre. “There are so many adults and families who struggle to put food on the table and as many who don’t have the means to keep themselves warm. Our goal is to be able to donate 5,000.00 to the Food Bank and organizations collecting coats, mittens, hats and scarves.”
Over 10 million pounds of food a year are distributed to individuals and families who are struggling with hunger in our communities. This number increases during the Holiday Season. While it is difficult to determine similar numbers, the need for warm clothing is critical and something many organizations like Covenant House need and companies support.
We ask all of our Joy of Dance family; students, teachers, parents, faculty family members and friends, to put something arm in our donation boxes. All non-perishable food and items of warm clothing for adults, teens and kids are also welcome.
Joy of Dance Centre is dedicated to the best in all things dance from Ballet to Ballroom. We are located at 95 Danforth Ave., Toronto Ontario.
